I’m typing this at 8:11 Saturday morning, and I normally post at 8:30. Godspeed to me.
My normal routine is to type out my writing in a Google Doc throughout the week, and edit it/ whittle it down as I go; I will then do a hard edit on Friday and Saturday morning.
In this case? There’s no time like the present, right?
Needless to say, this will not be a long post.
This is just a writing wherein I have really only one thing to say:
I forget how much I love summertime.
In the span of one week, I’ve gotten to do some of my favorite things:
- Hang out with Trey
- Spend time with my blood family and bonus family
- Garden
- Play with Boone
- Watch TV
- Read books
- Walk with Aubri
- Go to the beach
- Swim in the pool
- Work out
- Jump waves in the ocean
- Cook decent food
- Get my hair done
I haven’t thought about lesson plans or piles of essays that need to be graded. I haven’t felt rushed to do anything.
I’ve not fixed my hair more than once in the past week.
And so, all this to say, I adore summertime.
May is the busiest of all months, so I’m grateful to be able to end it with a much slower pace. Even if that slower pace does end with a Hail-Mary-pass of a blog post.
Thank you for reading, and happy summertime! I hope you get to do all of your favorite summer-y things too.
